Allyson Felix is used to being at the top of her game. The most decorated American track and field Olympian of all time has transitioned from sprinting on the track to sprinting through motherhood and entrepreneurship, with two young children and multiple businesses under her belt.

But in a recent interview for The Breakdown with Bethany, Felix admitted that even she isn’t immune to the daily tug-of-war so many moms face.

“It’s hard,” she said frankly, when asked how she manages to juggle her many roles without losing herself. “Some days I feel like I’m doing really well at work, and then I come home and it just feels like I’m failing there. And other days it’s the reverse.”

Felix, now a vocal advocate for maternal health and workplace equity, emphasized a lesson that many moms struggle to accept: You don’t have to do it all alone. She credits her support system, including her husband and close circle of family and friends, for helping her through the chaos.

“For some reason, I love when I can do it all,” she said. “But I need to remind myself that I don’t have to do it all.”

Instead of striving for perfection, Felix focuses on creating harmony between her roles, a mindset that may be especially comforting to mothers who are feeling stretched thin. It’s not about balance in the traditional sense, she explained, it’s about fluidity and asking for help when you need it.

That message of support and shared responsibility is also at the heart of her latest partnership with Danimals. As part of the brand’s new Snack Hero campaign, Felix is teaming up to help parents win snack time without stress. Starting May 1, families nationwide can get up to $15 worth of snacks delivered via Instacart in 30 minutes using the promo code SNACKHERO-15 (while supplies last). The Snack Hero haul includes Danimals favorites packed with kid-friendly nutrients like calcium and vitamin D, perfect for those halftime scrambles or post-school snack emergencies.

According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, most kids need three meals and one to two snacks a day, meaning parents are making food decisions constantly. With Danimals and Felix on board, the goal is to give moms and dads one less thing to stress about.

Whether she’s launching purpose-driven businesses or simply showing up for her kids, Felix is proving that success can look different at every stage. And for the moms watching from the sidelines, she’s offering a much-needed reminder: You’re not failing, you’re just human. And sometimes, a good snack can save the day.

We all know that staying home with kids is a ton of work in itself, but unfortunately, it doesn’t pay the bills. When we enter into this world as a stay-at-home mom, it may be for a variety of reasons. It could be due to the expense of childcare, or because you want to, or because you want to be home with your children. No matter the reasons behind it, you may find yourself missing not being able to contribute financially to the household. I know I did.

I’ve been self-employed for almost six years and I just started taking (unpaid) vacations. It has been a bittersweet thing for me. Sweet because hello, it’s a much needed time to recharge with my children. Bitter because I can’t seem to shake the feelings of guilt I have around this. And I know what that is now, especially after seeing Kim Kardashian's solution to success. She unapologetically told other women, “Get your f@cking asses up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”

Not only does this come from a place of huge privilege and family money, it completely diminishes the everyday lives of moms. Our society praises moms and calls them strong and #bossbabes if they work their fingers to the bone. And there's something seriously wrong with this.
